The Old Man of Hoy
The beautiful mountains of Coigach just north of Ullapool hold some of the best sea cliff & mountain crags in Scotland. Stac Pollaidh, Sgurr a Fhidhleir, Ardmair, Reiff and just a bit further north the Old Man of Stoer. A course for the S/VS climber who would like a bit of adventure, push their grade and may venture onto leading themselves. Instruction/ climbing would start on the single pitch routes of Reiff and Ardmair possibly progressing onto the multi pitch routes of Stac Pollaidh and Sgurr a Fhidhleir culminating with an ascent of The Old Man of Stoer.
The Old Man of Hoy is undoubtedly the UK's finest sea stack and can be claimed as the UK's most rewarding rock summit at 450ft. The easiest route which is E1 (HVS climbing) ascends the landward face hiding from the full force of the Atlantic.
This 2 day trip is one big adventure.
