Winter climbing Fiacaill Ridge

Intro Winter Climb

Mountaineering or climbing, one or two axes?

When the more interesting routes are covered in snow and ice, the transition from Winter Walking to Scrambling, Mountaineering, or Climbing in Winter is significant. This course progresses things by ascending steeper ground, graded or ungraded, ascending gullies, ridges, and easy buttresses to summits. We will make the most of your days on the hill by providing essential instruction, guiding, and venue knowledge. This course is ideal for winter walkers who want to challenge themselves on steeper terrain and who have previous summer scrambling or climbing experience. Smaller ratios allow gaps to be bridged more easily.
