Ecosse Mountains is based in the North East of Scotland very close to the Cairngorm National Park. We offer mountain instruction, guiding and tailor made courses to all those wishing to improve their mountain and biking skills.

Ecosse Mountains offer a wide range of courses and private guiding, covering a variety of activities. These range from summer scrambling, ideal if you are just starting to find your feet in the mountains, to winter climbing courses based in Scotland & Norway. Most courses are run with small ratios which ensures you get intensive instruction and coaching, value for money together with a friendly and professional service.

Mountain Biking has now been added to the list of activities. The 2 new courses are -

• MTB skills weekends Intro - Tarmac to Single Track in a weekend. The focus will be on the skills required to get you down forestry graded routes and natural single track safely and efficiently. Bike set up, trail side maintenance, navigation on a bike and where best to ride will also be covered.
• MTB skills weekends Intermediate - improve your off road riding with the emphasis on the skills required to get you down more technical single track.

Ecosse Mountains was set up in 2003 by Kevin Rutherford. Kevin has been climbing in Scotland, the Alps, Africa and Nepal for the last 20 years. As well as running Ecosse Mountains he works as an associate instructor for various Outdoor Centres in Scotland including the National Mountain Centre, Glenmore Lodge. He has been trained and assessed under the UKMLTB and holds the Mountain Instructor Certificate MIC, the UK's highest instructional mountain qualification. He is a full member of this professional organisation - AMI - Association of Mountaineering Instructors

Kevin is also a member of The Mountain Instructors Community. Being a member gives aclear and simple way of helping people identify the highest standard of climbing and mountain skills instruction in the UK.

Apart from many other sports, Kevin's other passion is mountain biking, one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. He is qualified as a Mountain Bike Leader having been trained and assessed by The Mountain Bike Leaders Association
